Going out alone as a single woman, especially in a place like Nigeria, can be nerve-racking. However, if you’re hoping to find love, you have to go out of your comfort zone and one way to do that is to go to places alone. In today’s post, I’m going to give tips about how to go out alone as a single woman without feeling funny.

Now, many single women feel uncomfortable when they go out to public places like bars or restaurants and they’re alone. They feel like people are looking at them and that some people are staring at them and thinking, ‘Hm! She’s out on the hunt. She wants to get a man.’
The first thing I’ll say to you is: ignore those feelings. Many of the people who see you out wish they had the courage to do what it is that you’re doing so stop the negative talk, believe in yourself and keep doing what it is that you want to do. If you want to feel more comfortable going out alone though, I have a few tips for you.
My first tip is that if you want to go to a restaurant that is popular, try going there for lunch instead of dinner because dinner time or night time tends to be busier than afternoon so go to restaurants in the afternoon. If you want to go to a bar, try going earlier like 8pm or 9pm. Go at that time and settle in with your drink because it’ll be more comfortable for you that way rather than going there at about midnight or 1am and walking into this room filled with strangers. That’s bound to make you feel a little self-conscious. So, go a little earlier, maybe 9pm.
Another tip for you is that when you’re out like that, bring out your phone. No, don’t start taking selfies but you can read things on your phone and just generally keep yourself company with your phone. There’s nothing wrong with that.
