Sometimes, the trials of modern dating amuse me. A hundred years ago, the issue of how long a guy takes before he texts you back or who a guy ‘liked’ on Instagram just didn’t come up. In fact, why am I saying ‘a hundred years ago’? Even ten years ago, some of these issues didn’t come up. But that’s dating in the modern world. It comes with its own issues, one of which I’m going to be talking about today. Today, I’m going to be talking about why guys take hours to text back.

If you’re a woman who has dated in the past 20 years, you’ve probably come up against this problem. You excitedly text a guy you’ve been flirting with or who you just started dating and then you wait in anticipation for his reply. Which doesn’t come for hours or doesn’t come for days. Why do guys do that?
I’ll keep this short and sweet. If a guy has a habit of not texting you back for hours, he is not into you. Don’t get me wrong. It’s possible for a guy you’re dating to not text you back immediately. He might be in a meeting or he might be driving. These things happen. But if he is into you, it won’t happen often.
For example, you can’t text a guy who likes you in the evening or at the weekend and he won’t text you back fairly quickly. It just won’t happen. If he likes you, he will reciprocate the time and effort you put into the relationship but if he doesn’t like you, he will not. It’s as simple as that.
Unfortunately, it’s not so simple for us women to accept that. Instead of us to accept that a man not replying our text for hours is a sign that he’s not into us, we’ll believe whatever story he gives us or sometimes, we’ll even make up stories for him. We’ll say things like, ‘Oh, he’s busy or he left his phone at home or the battery of his phone died or he fell down the stairs and lost his memory.’ We’ll come up with all sorts of excuses for the guy when in actual fact, we know deep down that he is not into us.
Then the next thing you’ll see is him on Instagram, liking pictures of Instagram models. What? So, he’s not dead after all? No, he isn’t. Ladies, know this: if a guy takes hours to text you back often, delete him from your phone because he is not worth your time. Even though the message in this video may have been painful for you, I hope it helped you somewhat.
