Yangon, which used to be known as Rangoon, is the largest city in Myanmar (which used to be known as Burma). Phew! I don’t know how long I’ve been aware of Yangon and Myanmar but I know it’s a city that drew my attention because of Aung San Suu Kyi, the well-known Burmese politician who was placed under house arrest for about 15 years. She sacrificed being with her husband and children to support her people and fight the government in power in her own way. How could I not be aware of such a woman? Yangon used to be the capital of Myanmar and appears to be a city as beautiful as the famous Aung San Suu Kyi herself.
