Picture of the month: Agbokim Waterfalls

agbokim waterfalls in etung cross river state nigeria

The Agbokim Waterfalls are in Etung, Cross River State.  The drive to the Falls from Calabar takes about three and a half hours so you really have to want to go there to go there, if you know what I mean.  The falls are about half-way between Calabar and Obudu Mountain Resort by road so stopping there on your way to or from Obudu isn’t a bad idea.  Although the journey to Agbokim Waterfalls is long, the sight of the falls is worth it and if you’re lucky enough to get there at about 2pm on the right day, you’ll see a rainbow stretching across the Falls.  It makes me wonder if beauty is what is really at the end of the rainbow not a pot of gold like people say.
