The Brazzerie is a beautiful restaurant on the 1st floor of the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. Inside the restaurant, the black and white checkered floor and prints of French scenes on the wall give a cute you-are-not-in-Lagos vibe.
The Brazzerie offers buffet meals. I went there on a Monday afternoon when the food was mainly European and Nigerian but I learned that the restaurant offers different food themes like Italian, seafood and Latino depending on the day of the week. For starters, I had some lettuce, mushrooms, potatoes and ham but my favourite was the shrimp salad which was gorgeous.
My starter may not be aesthetically pleasing but it certainly pleased my stomach
Next, I headed for the pasta station where you select the kind of pasta and ingredients you want and the chef cooks the parboiled pasta and your selected ingredients right in front of you which is fun.
I loved the blend of cheese, tomato sauce and chilli
With the staff making me feel at home and my stomach still indicating it had space, I had another course. This was stir-fried noodles, grilled vegetables and grilled barracuda with orange butter.
I completely covered the grilled barracuda. Sorry.
Finally, it was time for desert and I went for a personal favourite – chocolate cake. To be honest, the cake was a little dry but it didn’t take anything away from my enjoyment of the entire meal.
The thing that struck me most about the restaurant wasn’t the food but the staff. They were so polite and helpful I wish I could eat there everyday. When you add the fact that the food was delicious, I would say dining at The Brazzerie was a lovely experience.
Price: The buffet costs N6,000:00 and includes food, a bottle of water, a glass of champagne and a cup of coffee.
Address: Oniru Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos.
