Many people associate The Philippines with Imelda Marcos but in spite of my love of shoes, that’s not why I chose The Philippines as the subject of this month’s Picture of the Month. In secondary school, I had a friend from the Philippines and I always thought it would be nice to visit where she came from especially when she moved back to the Philippines after secondary school and would occasionally send me photographs of herself there usually at a beach. So, the Philippines is a country with fantastic beaches and cool shopping – two great reasons to visit.
