I’ve always been fascinated with how Lagos (the city I live in) got its name. I learned it was named after Lagos, Portugal by Portuguese explorers when they first came to this city. This picture shows a part of Faro which is close to Lagos in Portugal. As soon as I saw this photograph, my mind went to Lagos Island (in Nigeria, this time). Buildings with similar architecture are all over Isale Eko. This photograph gave me a funny sense of déjà-vu even though I’ve never been to Portugal before. Strange.
Have you ever been to Lagos, Nigeria and Lagos, Portugal before? Tell us in the comments!
